Program Description
Multidisciplinary Study Abroad in Mexico: Energy, Business and Design
Embark on an interdisciplinary journey through Mexico, where diverse fields of study intersect to explore global challenges and innovative solutions. This unique program offers courses across the Colleges of Engineering, Arts and Architecture, and Business, providing students with the opportunity to gain insights into energy, sustainability, and cultural resilience.
Courses include:
• BADM 497: Energy with an Emphasis on Mexico, Geopolitical Influences, and Forming Alliances – Explore the role of energy in Mexico’s economy and politics, analyzing global partnerships and market strategies.
• ENGR 430: Introduction to Solar Energy System Design – Learn the principles of solar energy and develop skills in designing sustainable energy systems.
• DSGN 471: Sustainable Architecture in Mesoamerica: Culture, Resilience, and Design – Investigate the intersection of architecture and culture, focusing on sustainable design inspired by Mexico's rich history and resilience.
Students will collaborate across disciplines, gaining perspectives from all fields while earning credit for the course that aligns with their academic focus. Through hands-on activities, fieldwork, and cultural immersion, this program fosters a comprehensive understanding of sustainability and design within Mexico's rich environmental and cultural landscape.
Cost
The program cost is $3,400 plus University fees of $140, totaling $3,540. After you have applied for your desired program, you must make a deposit of $500 via ULINK. The $500 deposit is applied towards the cost of the program. View Payment Policies & Instructions.
Program cost includes tuition for 3 credit hours, lodging, health insurance, cultural activities, and transportation. Airfare is not included in the program cost and must be purchased by the student. Other personal expenses include passport, eating out, shopping and entertainment.
