Dates: TBD

Program Description

Dive into the heart of Mexico City, a vibrant hub of art, history, and culture, in this immersive study abroad program. Renowned as one of the largest and most historically significant cities in the world, Mexico City offers a rich tapestry of experiences, from its Pre-Columbian roots to its modern urban landscape.
Each day, you'll explore iconic neighborhoods, from the ancient grounds of Milpa Alta to the modern elegance of Polanco. Stroll through historic areas like the bustling city center, built over an expansive Aztec marketplace, and the leafy streets of Condesa, designed with European influence. The program also includes visits to world-renowned cultural landmarks such as Frida Kahlo’s house and Diego Rivera’s murals, along with excursions to traditional markets and major institutions like the anthropological and historical museums of Chapultepec Park.
Additionally, participants will engage with Mexico City's vast cultural institutions, including museums, libraries, and performance spaces. With guided field trips, you'll learn how these institutions contribute to national identity and explore both mainstream and countercultural narratives.
Public transportation will be your gateway to the city, providing a firsthand experience of navigating this sprawling metropolis. In your free time, optional trips to bookstores, cafés, concerts, and theaters will enrich your understanding of Mexico’s cultural scene, giving you the opportunity to document your journey and create your own stories inspired by the city's vibrant heritage.
This program offers an extraordinary opportunity to study the complex cultural layers of Mexico City while honing your analytical and creative skills.
