Spend
six weeks this summer in Florence, Italy and in the Tuscan hills with
the UL Lafayette Study Abroad Program. The summer semester of
nine credit hours will be held in one of the most beautiful cities in
the world. Students will also tour the stunning cities of Siena, San
Gimignano (a hilltop town with medieval towers), Pisa with its famous
Leaning Tower and Romanesque Cathedral, Lucca with a bike path atop its
medieval walls, and several other Tuscan towns. In addition, students
will spend four days and three nights in Rome touring St. Peter’s
Cathedral, the Vatican Museum, the Roman Forum and Coliseum as well as
other sights in this historic city. The students will have the option
to visit Venice as well as the Mediterranean Coast and its
beaches. Especially recommended is an excursion to Cinque Terre,
five villages perched along the cliff sides of the Mediterranean Sea.
Cost The
program cost will be $6600.00 which includes round-trip airfare to
Italy, transfers to and from the airport, housing for six weeks in
furnished apartments with kitchens in the city center of Florence,
summer school tuition, the field trips in Tuscany mentioned above, the
four-day visit to Rome, admission to Florence’s museums such as the
Uffizi, Pitti and Academia as well as the city’s palaces and
churches. Students will be responsible for their own meals during
the program.
Courses Courses will be offered in Architecture/Design, English, History/Geography and Hospitality Management.
