UL Lafayette Study Abroad

NEW Summer Semester
 in
 Quebec City (Canada)

July 6th-August 8th 2008

Enjoy your summer studies for five weeks in one of the oldest and most picturesque cities in North America.

Lying on the shores of the St. Lawrence River, Quebec City is a UNESCO World Heritage site with its rich history and well-preserved old quarter being the only remaining walled settlement in North America. . . . .

Tour with UL faculty and students the 400 year-old city quarter, perched on and below Cap-Diamant, a set of steep bluffs overlooking the St. Lawrence.  Old Quebec includes an Upper Town formed from a maze of narrow streets with shops, markets, and restaurants that surround the Chateau Frontenac, the Plains of Abraham (the actual battlefield where the fate of the French and British in North America was decided), and the Quebec Parliament; and also a Lower Town, where is found Place-Royal, the site of the first permanent settlement in New France, the Naval Museum of Quebec, and the Old Port.. . .

Study and lodge in nearby Laval University, the largest French university in North America, on a modern campus of 500 acres with over 40,000 students, less than four miles from Old Quebec. . . .
